ShipPost Now Posts to X and LinkedIn

ShipPost Team ·

We built ShipPost so you’d never have to stare at an empty LinkedIn compose box again. But once the draft was ready, you still had to copy it, switch tabs, paste it, and hit post.

That’s three steps too many. So we fixed it.

Post to X with one click

Connect your X account in Settings (OAuth, takes 10 seconds) and every approved draft gets a Post to X button.

Click it. The tweet goes live. Done.

ShipPost auto-truncates to 280 characters if your draft is longer, and stores the tweet ID so we can track performance later. If your token expires, we refresh it automatically — you never have to reconnect.

Share on LinkedIn without the API headache

LinkedIn’s publishing API requires partner-level access and a review process that takes weeks. We skipped all of that.

Click Share on LinkedIn and your browser opens the LinkedIn compose dialog with your draft pre-filled. The text is already there — you just hit “Post.”

No OAuth. No API restrictions. No waiting for approval from LinkedIn’s developer program. It works for every user, right now.

The Chrome Extension

We also shipped a Chrome extension that does two things:

1. Post from X or LinkedIn directly

When you’re browsing x.com or linkedin.com, a small floating button appears in the corner. Click it and you get a panel with your approved drafts. Pick one, hit post, and you’re done without ever opening the ShipPost dashboard.

On X, you can either post directly via the API or open the compose intent. On LinkedIn, it opens the share dialog with your content pre-filled.

2. Auto-scrape post stats

The extension scrapes views, likes, replies, and reposts from every post visible on the page. It runs automatically every 15 minutes (configurable from 5 min to 1 hour) across all your open X and LinkedIn tabs.

Stats sync back to your ShipPost Analytics dashboard, so you can see which posts are actually performing — without manually checking each platform.

How to set it up

X publishing:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → X (Twitter)
  2. Click Connect
  3. Authorize ShipPost
  4. Done — the “Post to X” button appears on all approved drafts

LinkedIn sharing: Nothing to set up. The “Share on LinkedIn” button is already there on every approved draft.

Chrome Extension:

  1. Download the extension from the dashboard (Settings → Chrome Extension)
  2. Copy your auth token
  3. Paste it in the extension popup
  4. The floating button appears on x.com and linkedin.com

What’s next
